After training her “eye for alignment” at The Tampa Ballet Company, where she achieved the level of soloist, Karen became a dance major at The University of South Florida. She then moved to New York City and began her teaching career at the original barre workout studio: Lotte Berk Method. In 2001, having become a fully certified Pilates instructor through Power Pilates, she taught at that studio’s upper west side Manhattan location. During this time, she studied anatomy and kinesiology with Irene Dowd, adding over 150 hours of education to her background. She became the first manager of the Pilates Studio at The David Barton Gym on Madison Avenue, and completed a certification with the National Academy of Sports Medicine. In 2005 she relocated to New York’s capital region and now works full time as a Pilates/GYROTONIC® instructor. She also worked as a master trainer for Tracey Mallett's Booty Barre®. In 2010, Karen was selected to teach Pilates at the NYSSSA-New York City Ballet program allowing her to stay connected to the dance profession and teach young dancers each summer. She is currently PMA® certified in Pilates and holds an AFFA: Group Exercise Instructor certification. Beyond dance and exercise, Karen continues to be involved in several of the performing arts and is a proud member of two artistic unions: SAG-AFTRA and The Actors’ Equity Association. Karen is excited to combine her love of Pilates, with Barre & TRX at Club Pilates!
Often times the hardest thing to do in Diane's class is to control your laughter! She has been a Fitness Professional for the last 34 yrs. A ball of infectious enthusiasm, she knew Pilates was her calling the first time she taught a class! Diane has experience teaching Pilates, Aqua classes, Aerobics, Barre, Boot Camp, Step, Sculpting, Tae Bo, Tabata/Hiit & Yoga. Her first Fitness Instructor Certificate was from the Montreal Y. She then continued accumulating certificates in Balance Ball, Body Sculpting, Boot Camp, Comprehensive Pilates Certification (Mat & Apparatus), Spinning, Step, Tae Bo & 200 HR Vinyasa Yoga. Slightly demanding, Diane asks for attention to detail & for a "no quit" attitude. Some of her strengths are her leadership skills & her ability to provide modifications for injuries & different levels of experience. Her biggest assets are her ability to improvise, her creativity & her enthusiasm. She loves to stress, that: “If you thinks it’s enough, it isn’t!” “Quality over Quantity, so modify if you feel you’re losing the quality of your movement. “

Jami is a certified instructor of Physicalmind Institute’s Pilates mat, Powder Blue Production’s PiYo® and Tracey Mallett’s Bootybarre®. She has been teaching Pilates mat classes since 2003 and Bootybarre classes since 2013. Jami is also a Mad Dogg Athletics certified spinning instructor and Athletics and Fitness Association of America™ (AFAA) certified group fitness instructor. She has been teaching spinning classes and various group exercise class formats since 1995. Jami began her Club Pilates career upon learning of the opening of the new Clifton Park studio. On a subsequent trip to Florida, she had an opportunity to take Club Pilates classes and found out that she not only loved what the classes did for her mind and body, but decided that she wanted to teach those classes and share her love of Club Pilates with others! Jami completed her Pilates instructor training through participation in a 500-hour Comprehensive Pilates Education Program offered by the Club Pilates Teacher Training Program. What Jami loves most about teaching at Club Pilates is that instructors are encouraged to create fun and safe classes that fuse exercises from a wide variety of fitness modalities such as Pilates, TRX®, barre, BOSU, and interval training. As a result, no two classes are ever the same, and any class can be modified to meet specific needs of an individual. When Jami is not teaching or taking exercise classes, she enjoys her new found freedom as a retired engineer from Bechtel Corp, spending time with her family, and taking care of their four Labrador retrievers.
Cheryl is one of our newest Apprentice teachers! Her wellness career started by received a Pilates Mat Certification at Core Pilates NYC in 2015 and her Power Vinyasa yoga certification in 2016. Cheryl recently relocated to the Albany area after having been a fashion industry professional living and working in New York City for 12 years. She has always been active in competitive athletic activities from gymnastics, softball, and swimming as a child and throughout high school to traditional training at gyms throughout her college years and twenties. She was introduced to Pilates and yoga in 2011 and was immediately captivated by the way they strengthened the muscles in her entire body and addressed the mind-body connection, while other forms of exercises hadn’t. She added BarreFlow and HIIT training to her repertoire in 2017 and loves to continue learning new forms of fitness to challenge both herself and her students. She is currently working towards her 500 hour Comprehensive Pilates Certification through Club Pilates! Cheryl continues to be inspired by the way Pilates realigns, motivates, and improves all body types and how it works for beginners to experts! She creates Pilates classes that emphasize alignment, posture and optimal movement patterns, bringing the mind-body principles from her Pilates and yoga trainings to her classes, with the goal of challenging you and deepening your connection and awareness to your body. Developing the mind-body connection Pilates creates is a key to her teaching style and she loves building relationships with her students!
